NEGOTIATIONS

IN  PROGRESS

C. MARTIN

1/8/2008

Negotiations opened up today with C Martin Company.

We presented the Company with our non-economic proposal and spent the rest of the day clarifying any questions that they may have.  So far all is going well at the table.  We do expect to have to meet several times with the Company to reach an agreement.

We will meet with the C Martin Membership at the Frontier Club Wednesday night after work to talk to the membership and have GLR Figueroa talk with them.

We met again with the Company today and ended the day by signing off several non-economic issues.  We have had a lot of dialogue with the Company and have a positive outlook in the negotiations process with this Company.  We have scheduled the 30th and 31st of January for our next session.

We also met with the membership at White Sands this evening and GLR Figueroa talked to the membership and answered question both in Spanish and English.  We surely thank him and GVP Pearson for sending him to help with these negotiations.

2/6/2008

Today we resumed the C Martin Negotiations.  We made some additional progress with the non economics portion of negotiations and hope to make a lot more progress tomorrow.
The Company seems to be willing to get with it and try to get it done.

We will brief the membership tomorrow evening on the IAM Pension.

More to follow tomorrow.

We finished up most of the non-economic issues yesterday and look forward to getting in the economic portion of negotiations today.  We have accomplished a lot this session and look forward to getting on with the economics.

We finished non-economics today with the only exception being the EBS insurance.

We also presented the Company with our economics package and will be back at the table
on February 20th to continue negotiations.

2/20/2008

We returned to the table today to negotiate economic issues.
The Company has not responded to all of our economic proposals and has yet to address wages.

Your negotiating team will stress the needs of the Membership as negotiations continue.

2/21/2008

We met with the Company today and they gave us a response to all of our economic proposals.
We are currently evaluating and preparing responses to their economic counter-proposals.

2/22/2008

We continued in the economics of the C Martin negotiations on Friday and will meet with the Company again Saturday.  We are making some progress, but it is moving slow.  Proposals are however being moved back and forth across the table.  We will break off negotiations today and resume the middle of the month.

2/23/2008

We have made progress on economic negotiations, but we still have a lot of work ahead of us.
Due to scheduling issues, negotiations are temporarily on hold until the week of the 10th.
Negotiations are scheduled to resume Thursday, March 13th.

3/13/2008

We resumed negotiations with C Martin today and it was a long slow day.  We discussed several issues, but no real progress seemed to be made.  We hope tomorrow will be a more productive day.

3/17/2008

We negotiated Thursday thru Saturday and still do not have an agreement.  We are scheduled to meet again the middle of April.

5/05/2008

Negotiations were resumed today and the Company presented us with some proposals that we will look at before we go back to the table tomorrow.

5/6/2008

Today we continued with negotiations (economics) at a snails pace.  The company doesn't want to move much on anything.  We will try again tomorrow and see where we get.

We will also do our first strike vote tomorrow evening at the Frontier club at 4:30 p.m.

5/7/2008

Today we continued with economics.  Again we made slow progress, but TA'd another article.
We also took the first strike vote and had an overwhelming  99% vote to strike.

5/8/2008

Today was a more productive day and we have now finished everything in economics except for the big issues to include wages and health care.  There has not been a lot of movement in these areas.  Hopefully tomorrow we will get some movement.

5/9/2008

On Friday, May 9th we reached a tentative Agreement with C Martin.

The Agreement, that has to be voted and ratified by the membership includes increases in wages plus a 3% increase in the second year, more affordable health care cost (the Company pays 85% of the cost), IAM pension plan, severance plan, recall language, paid holidays, overtime language, on call pay, vacation and sick leave language, and a grievance procedure.  The Agreement is being translated right now and will be given to the membership as soon as this is complete.

I have overnighted the documents to the lady to translate and expect them back
by the end of the week.

Thanks to the negotiating committee for all their hard work
